About Careergap

About Us

Careergap focuses on ethical breaks for anyone seeking a few more comforts, more support and more choice than a gap year or student adventure. We have programs from 2 weeks up to 7 months. Programs where you explore with an experience every day, or programs where you can learn new skills, maybe a new career.

There is a wide range of projects available, from wildlife conservation in Tanzania to voluntary teaching in Vietnam, which are ideally suited to career break travellers. Durations are from two weeks to six months so whether you are currently employed or looking for a more long-term placement Careergap has what you are looking for. This is so much so that if you call us with specific details, we can customise your desired programme.

Careergap is part of the Gapforce family.

Personal Statement

'I have run gap year and volunteering programmes for over ten years. An increasing number of friends the 'other side' of forty wanted to have the chance to participate on these amazing adventures. However, like myself, they wanted slightly more creature comforts than a bucket shower or a Maasai stick bed!

Careergap offers the opportunity to make a difference, to safely travel one step further and also to have a hot shower, food and your own bed at the end of the day.

New travellers or seasoned adventurers are all welcome. Our briefing days before you depart ensure you are prepared. My team meet you when you land, so make the most of your valuable time on one of our amazing expeditions.'

                                                                                                           -Marcus Watts, Managing Director, Careergap.

Ethics

We feel that with all of the air travel that is necessary to participate in our global projects it is right for us to take measures to balance out the CO2 that is produced. We have therefore taken the approved measures to ensure your Careergap adventure is carbon neutral.

We utilize BSI 8848; the provision of expeditions and adventurous activities outside the UK. We only have a positive impact on our environment. We also adhere to the Year Out Group’s Code of Practice for Expeditions and are a part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s ‘Know Before You Go’ campaign.
